my life has gotten EXTREMELY hectic as of late....

I finally finished my classes to get my girls back, though I have one last thing to go through before they come home... family therapy with my oldest. That was decided LONG before we discovered that she had been sexually molested when she was in foster care before, and she'sbeen trying to tell me without words that she was having issues. Now that I know, we're working on some counseling for her because of it.

My yougest just turned a year on the 6th of June, and my middle daughter just turned 2 on the 22nd, so two birthday parties were held two weeks apart for them. And on top of that, Summer, my middle daughter, was pushed by another child at her daycare and hit her head. So she had to go to the ER to get checked out to see if she needed stitches. Thank God she didn't, but I lost out on having time with her and my youngest today because of her injury, though it will get made up next week, though I did spend the day with my oldest.

Have you ever tried to reason with a 7 year old who shuts down emotionally, mentally and physically when she doesn't get what she wants? It's not easy, let me tell you. But I have found the way that works for my oldest, and, while it might be mean of me to do it, I exploit the way every time she gets into shut down mode. But it pulls her out of her attitude, and gets her back into her normal happy self.
